Garden Office POD, Dorset. Mr P contacted Garden Retreat mid 2018 he had recently left his job as a Mortgage adviser and decided he wanted to start up his own business.  To do this Mr P wanted to separate his home and work life by having a dedicated work area to enable him to focus on his new venture. The initial specification was to have a modern contemporary building with plenty of light but at the same time have the building clad in Cedar which not only looks and smells beautiful but also has an exceptionally long service life.

This contemporary garden building is constructed using an external cedar clad and bitumen paper to ensure any damp is kept out of the building.  The walls are constructed using a 75mm x 38mm timber frame, 50mm polystyrene and a 12mm grooved ply inner lining to finish the walls. The total thickness of the walls is 100mm which lends itself to all year round use.  The floor is manufactured using heavy duty bearers, 75mm Celotex and a 12mm ply floor which can either be carpeted or a vinyl floor can be installed for a hard wearing and an easily clean option. As this Garden Office was for business purposes Mr P took advantage of our Financing and Funding Option which removed the need for the initial capital expenditure.
